Pricing and estimates
How much does a bathroom remodel cost?
It depends mostly on size and how far you go. National cost guides put a refresh of an average-size bathroom in the low thousands and a full gut well into five figures. Our bathroom remodel cost page breaks it down, and the project builder gives you a range for your own choices.
Is the in-home estimate really free?
Yes. No charge for the visit or the written price, and no obligation afterward.
Will the final price match the online range?
The online range is a planning tool built from public cost data. Your actual price comes after we see the room, and it’s written down before work starts. If the visit changes the picture a lot, we explain why.
What if you find a surprise behind the wall?
We stop, show you, explain the fix and the cost, and get your OK in writing before we continue. No surprise line items on the final invoice.
Do you offer financing?
Ask us at the visit and we’ll tell you what’s available.
Timing and disruption
How long does a bathroom remodel take?
Hands-on work for a typical bathroom often runs a few weeks, and the whole process including planning, ordering and any permits usually takes longer. Our timeline guide walks through each phase.
Can we keep living in the house?
Almost always. We seal off the work area, protect the path in and out, and clean up daily. If it’s your only shower, we plan the schedule around that.
Do I need to be home while you work?
Not the whole time. Many homeowners give us a lockbox code or a key after the first day. We’ll set expectations together at the start.
Walk-in tubs and accessible showers
Walk-in tub or walk-in shower: which is better?
It depends on whether you want to soak or just get clean safely. We compare them honestly on our walk-in tub vs. walk-in shower page.
Does Medicare pay for a walk-in tub?
Generally no. Original Medicare does not typically treat walk-in tubs as covered medical equipment. Some Medicare Advantage plans, veterans’ programs or local aging-services agencies may help, so check with your plan directly.
Can you add grab bars without a full remodel?
Yes. Properly anchored grab bars are one of the quickest safety upgrades, and they can look good, too. See grab bars that don’t look clinical.
Permits, trades and paperwork
Do I need a permit for a bathroom remodel?
Cosmetic work often doesn’t, but moving plumbing, adding circuits or changing walls usually does. Rules vary by city and county around here, so we check the requirements for your address and handle the permit when one is needed.
Are you insured?
Yes, and we’re happy to show a certificate.
Who does the plumbing and electrical?
When a project needs plumbing or electrical work, we schedule the right trade for it and tell you who’s coming. You still deal with one point of contact.
